I'm Erin - lover of books, planners and spreadsheets...you see where this is going.

I have a BS from Michigan State University, over 10 years experience in the book industry along with a strong customer service and project management background, ranging from work in hospital administration, to book marketing and library acquisitions. Oh, and I'm super into design. In fact, I was designing restaurant menus when I was 12.

My Mission

I firmly believe that work-life balance is of utmost importance. When you're an author you're not "just a writer" and I totally get that. You balance a lot, and you're pretty amazing. Making time to work on your craft is hard enough, let alone finding the time to handle all the other authorpreneuer responsibilities.

I'm passionate about helping take some of the weight off your mind so you can focus on your writing, research or networking, so you can attend conferences or hey, maybe even take a nap. You deserve it. I want to help you with those items on your To-Do list that keep getting pushed to the bottom - perhaps you have no time or interest in learning the ins and outs of social media, or maybe you really don't like scheduling those newsletters. I want you to focus on the areas where your time is best spent. Allow me to help you so you can...

Balance less. Enjoy more.

“If you’re new to the book world and haven’t self-published before, I highly recommend hiring Erin as a Virtual Assistant. Erin’s knowledge, responsiveness, and straightforward communication style, made the process a breeze. Throughout the process, we had a couple questions where Erin provided research and her professional opinion to ensure we were making the right decisions for our book goals. This really helped us to move faster with confidence.”

- Alison Brown, Marketing Manager, Rhythm Systems

“Erin is such a delight to work with! I recommend her to authors and small business owners as often as possible, especially for her image creation work. She’s created blog images, social media banners, flyers, labels and thank you cards for my business. If I give her an idea, or even just a blog title, she’s able to create the perfect image and tone for it, and she matches it to my brand. Erin always delivers on time and is very clear on project expectations.”

- Katie McCoach, Developmental Editor, KM Editorial LLC.

“In an overwhelming marketing campaign to launch my third title, the life-saving suggestion that I might benefit from a V.A. was quickly welcomed once I understood what a Virtual Assistant could do for me behind the scenes. Social media platform help? Check. GoodReads research? Check. Graphic design skill-set used to create gorgeous speaker sheets? Check and check. Erin Tolbert’s incredible work ethic and quick turnaround reinforce to me daily that my business is her priority.”

- Stefania Shaffer, Author of Heroes Don't Always Wear Capes, 9 Realities of Caring for an Elderly Parent and 9 Realities of Caring for an Elderly Parent: The Companion Playbook

“Having worked with Erin on many projects in the past, I admire her work ethic. She is great at prioritizing, and being creative in many different aspects. I really like the way she gets to know who you are, making communication easier. You can give her ideas of what you want, and like magic it happens, but better than expected! I’m really considering taking on another project, just to work with her again.”

- Su Maxwell-Hall, DoD Contractor and Operations Supervisor, Humana Government Business

“Erin came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Through every step of the process from my proposal to her final version of my infographic, she provided ample communication, samples to guide my decisions, and carried my vision to fruition. Her service was prompt, affordable, and professional. I look forward to working with Erin again soon!”

- Christopher T Nugent, Editor

“When I decided to hire a virtual assistant, I was overwhelmed; both by the idea of it all and number of responses I had. But Erin’s application stood out and I had a really good feeling about working with her even before I interviewed her!
She knows her stuff, she’s super duper sweet, and her communication skills are top-notch. Her work is amazing and I can’t say how happy I am to have hired her!”

- RaeAnne, Owner of Lavender Prose and ScribeKit
